Endurance Sport for Dogs Calms High Energy

flyball australian shepardSome dogs are relentless when it comes to demanding constant attention. And just like children, some dogs have unbelievable ways of gaining the attention they desire e.g chewing valuable items around the house, taking off for solo excursions around the neighborhood, and of course the ever so annoying bark-a-thon. Ironically, dogs that in search of constant attention are often signs of intelligent dogs wired with high energy and drive, thus a tendency to become easily bored.

Owners with intellectually under stimulated dogs, particularly working breeds that possess endless energy, are presented with the creative challenge of discovering new ways to effectively satisfy and calm their dog's overactive mind.

Flyball is much like drag racing but only for dog.  The sport is a relay race course with hurdles and tennis balls. Fly ball is a popular sporting game designed to physically and mentally engage overly stimulated dogs.

Flyball is a team sport where four dogs per team run a relay race over a course, and the best combined times win. The heats run two teams at a time in head-to-head competition.
